The trees have a naturally pyramidal form, and minimal pruning is required. Closely resembling boxwood shrubs, the Steeds Holly shrubs have shiny dark green foliage, small white flowers, and black berries that persist through the winter.
Botanically referenced as 'Ilex Crenata Steeds,' the evergreen shrubs enjoy full to partial sun and well-draining soil conditions. The easy-to-grow plants also prefer slightly acidic soil, but they will easily adapt to most soils.
