Drops of Gold Holly produce variegated leaves. The leaves may look like they are fully golden, but on closer inspection, you'll notice the leaves are edged in green. New growth is fully golden, and as they age, they age to green, giving this beauty a two-toned effect.
Drops of gold Japanese Holly have a broad upright habit, and if left un-pruned, it can reach heights of up to 4 feet, making this perfect as a privacy hedge around patios or to cover decks.
This holly prefers to be planted in full sun. Planting in partial shade will cause the plant to become more green than yellow.
